Anima Theatre Company is focused on the faltering line between fact and fiction. Working in the realms of experimental theatre and new writing we are pushing the boundaries of what is real and what is not. We came together through our mutual interest in inclusive theatre and giving voice to those who struggle to be heard.
Our previous work includes The Sleeper (Theatre 503, Edinburgh Festival 2017, The Rosemary Branch Theatre, The Space and Brighton Fringe 2018) which was Longlisted for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award 2017 and selected to be part of the Brighton Fringe WINDOW 10. Where We Are/Place to Be (VAULT 2018, Arcola) explores new possibilities for community theatre through ‘Place’ and most recently we worked with musician Anna B Savage (Omeara, Soup Kitchen, Exchange) on a live show that blends conceptual performance, film and gig theatre.
In each project we undertake, our aim is to promote cross-collaboration, conversation and connection while bringing new ideas and new audiences to theatre. We are currently running a series of workshops based around the idea of ‘Non-Fiction Theatre’.
